Leipzig, Germany, is in the Eastern European Time Zone. Germany is 7 hours behind China; the time there is Beijing Time minus 7 hours.
Germany’s official currency is the euro (EUR), with an exchange rate of approximately 1 EUR = 8.22 CNY. (This rate is for reference only; the actual rate in effect on the day of your transaction shall prevail.) Avoid carrying large amounts of cash—keep Chinese yuan cash under RMB 20,000, or foreign currency cash equivalent to no more than EUR 4,000.
Leipzig experiences cold weather in January, with average temperatures ranging from -2°C to 3°C. Snow and rain are expected, so be sure to bring warm, heavy clothing such as down jackets, thick sweaters, thermal underwear, scarves, gloves, and hats.
During the exhibition, business attire (such as suits and formal wear) is required. We recommend choosing warm yet lightweight business clothing.
Germany uses a voltage of 230 V at 50 Hz, with plug types C (two round pins) and F (two round pins with grounding). Dual-voltage appliances (marked 100–240 V) can be used directly; other electrical devices will require an appropriate adapter plug in advance.
1. In public, Germans prefer not to be loud or overly enthusiastic. They tend to dress conservatively and avoid clothing that is too revealing or casual.
2. Germans place great importance on punctuality; whether for business meetings or personal appointments, being late is seen as a sign of disrespect. It is advisable to arrive 5–10 minutes early.
3. In business negotiations, Germans emphasize logic and efficiency, avoiding excessive small talk or vague statements; they expect you to state your views and present data directly.
4. Germans consider the numbers “13” and “Friday” to be unlucky.
