Travel Advisory
1. Bring your original passport (with at least six months of validity), the original visa page, your insurance policy, and your round-trip flight itinerary.
2. Bring an ample supply of brochures, posters, and other materials.
3. Mobile phone (with international roaming enabled), charger (3C-certified), power bank, and travel adapter.
4. Bring your toiletries and necessary clothing, and pack some of your regular medications—such as gastrointestinal remedies, allergy pills, fever reducers, and pain relievers—for emergencies.
5. Please do not place computers, batteries, or power banks in your checked baggage.
6. Vietnam—Ho Chi Minh City is one hour behind China; the time there is Beijing Time minus one hour.
7. Regarding currency, the country you will be visiting is Vietnam, where the local currency is the Vietnamese dong (VND). Official foreign‑exchange outlets at airports, banks, hotels, and other authorized locations offer currency‑exchange services; you can also exchange money directly with your tour guide or other staff. The Chinese yuan is not widely accepted in Vietnam, but U.S. dollar cash can be used at most retail and service establishments. The approximate exchange rate is 1 USD to about 26,410 VND, and 1 CNY to roughly 3,700 VND (these rates are for reference only; the official rate in effect on the day of your transaction shall prevail). Please note that local businesses generally settle transactions in Vietnamese dong, so there may be slight differences when exchanging at airports, banks, hotels, or through your guide—please decide for yourself whether to proceed with the exchange. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash; the maximum amount of Chinese yuan you may bring is RMB 20,000, and the equivalent in foreign currency should not exceed USD 5,000. Any amounts exceeding these limits must be declared to customs. Credit cards such as VISA or MASTER CARD are widely accepted abroad.
8. In September, Vietnam’s temperatures typically range between 27°C and 30°C, with average daytime highs around 30°C. It is recommended to wear light, breathable clothing such as short-sleeved shirts, shorts, and lightweight skirts or shorts. For business events or more formal meetings and receptions, please bring formal attire. As exhibition halls tend to be cooler, it’s advisable to carry a jacket.
9. The voltage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, is 220V at 50Hz. Vietnamese outlets vary from hotel to hotel, with both round and flat pins; most appliances from China are compatible. Businesses may also wish to bring a universal adapter to suit their needs.
10. Vietnamese people place great importance on etiquette: when meeting someone, they greet them with a polite salutation or a nod. Influenced by Chinese traditions and culture, Vietnam’s customs share many similarities with ours, yet there are also certain cultural taboos that travelers should be aware of. When entering a shoe store or clothing shop by the roadside—or even a private home or guesthouse—it is customary to remove your shoes before stepping inside.
