Travel Advisory
1. Bring your personal passport, visa, hotel reservation, flight itinerary, and invitation letter.
2. Bring an ample supply of brochures, posters, and other materials.
3. Mobile phone (with international roaming enabled), charger, power bank, and travel adapter.
4. Bring your toiletries and necessary clothing, and pack some of your regular medications—such as gastrointestinal remedies, allergy pills, fever reducers, and pain relievers—for emergencies.
5. Please do not place computers, batteries, or 3C-certified power banks in your checked baggage.
6. Mexico is 14 hours behind China; the time there is Beijing Time minus 14 hours.
7. In terms of currency, the local unit in Mexico is the peso. Common coin denominations include 20 and 50 centavos, as well as 1, 2, 5, and 10 pesos, while banknotes are available in 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500-peso denominations.
8. In August, Mexico’s temperatures typically range from 19°C to 30°C, with an average daily low of around 20°C and an average daily high of about 31°C. It’s recommended to wear light, breathable clothing such as cotton or linen shirts, lightweight long skirts, and thin T-shirts. Given the significant temperature differences between morning and evening, it’s advisable to bring a light jacket to stay comfortable during cooler mornings and nights. For business events or more formal meetings and visits, please prepare smart‑casual attire.
9. The standard voltage in Mexico is 127V, with a frequency of 60Hz.
Mexico uses Type A and Type B power plugs. Type A plugs have two flat, parallel pins and are non‑grounded, while Type B plugs have two flat, parallel pins and a grounding pin.
10. Mexico is a country with a rich cultural heritage and unique traditions, whose customs and taboos reflect its history, religion—primarily Catholicism—and social values.
➤ Avoid discussing sensitive topics such as the Mexico–U.S. border and drug-related crime, as these may touch on local social sensitivities and easily cause discomfort. Avoid making excessive comments about others’ appearance, physique, or personal life, and refrain from prying into private details such as income or age.
➤ Gesture-related aspects
Do not point directly at others with your finger (as it is considered impolite), nor make the “OK” gesture (with your thumb and index finger forming a circle and the other fingers extended), as in Mexico this gesture may be perceived as vulgar or offensive.
➤ Gifts and Color Taboos
When giving gifts, avoid using black or purple packaging (black symbolizes mourning, and purple is associated with mourning in religious contexts). Yellow flowers are often associated with death and mourning in Mexican culture and should be avoided as gifts.
