#Exhibition Introduction#

Vetexpo Europe, which originated as a companion exhibition to the Leipzig Veterinary Congress in 1998, has evolved over the years from an initial platform for continuing education and technical exchange among veterinarians in the German-speaking region—covering Germany, Austria, and Switzerland—into a highly influential event for the veterinary industry across Europe and around the world. Held every two years, Vetexpo Europe is dedicated to bringing together veterinary professionals, research institutions, and industry players from around the world to showcase cutting-edge technologies and exchange expert knowledge.

Since its inception, Vetexpo has focused on medical equipment for farm animals and pets, and the inaugural show attracted approximately 200 exhibitors, primarily from Germany. As the European veterinary industry continues to consolidate and develop, Vetexpo has strengthened its international participation since 2010, resulting in a significant increase in its global influence. In 2014, the seventh edition of the exhibition introduced the International Conference on Equine Reproductive Medicine (ICERM) for the first time, drawing equine experts from 15 countries and further advancing the event’s internationalization. By 2022, the share of overseas exhibitors had reached 23%, primarily from countries such as the Netherlands, Austria, and the United States.

In January 2025, the organizers announced that Vetexpo would be rebranded as Vetexpo Europe, marking the exhibition’s transition from a regional event to a Europe-wide industry hub. Following its brand upgrade, Vetexpo Europe has explicitly expanded its target market to cover all of Europe and is now held concurrently with PARTNER PFERD, Europe’s leading equine trade fair, further enhancing the event’s scale and influence.

From the perspective of attendee demographics, Vetexpo Europe brings together a diverse array of professionals from the veterinary industry. According to 2024 data, 63% of attendees were practicing veterinarians—42% of whom specialized in small-animal medicine—18% came from research institutions, 11% represented government regulatory agencies, and 8% were veterinary students. This diverse group of attendees provides the exhibition with ample opportunities for networking and collaboration.

In terms of its product portfolio, Vetexpo Europe covers a wide range of sectors, including medical technologies and diagnostic equipment, pharmaceuticals and biologics, digital solutions, nutrition and health management, as well as education and professional services. These areas comprehensively showcase the latest trends and innovations in the veterinary industry, providing exhibitors with a platform to present their cutting-edge products and technologies, while also offering veterinarians and industry professionals valuable opportunities for learning and networking.
