Travel Advisory
1. Please bring your original passport (with at least six months of validity), the EVUS registration page, the invitation letter, and your round-trip flight itinerary.
2. Bring an ample supply of brochures, posters, and other materials.
3. Mobile phone (with international roaming enabled), charger, power bank, and travel adapter.
4. Bring your toiletries and necessary clothing, and pack some of your regular medications—such as gastrointestinal remedies, allergy pills, fever reducers, and pain relievers—for emergencies.
5. Please do not place computers, batteries, or power banks in your checked baggage.
6. Americans avoid the numbers “13” and “Friday the 13th,” as well as the date itself, believing these to be symbols of bad luck and disaster. They also disapprove of others picking their ears, picking their nose, sneezing, stretching, or coughing in their presence, viewing such behaviors as uncivilized.
7. Chicago, USA, is 13 hours behind China; the time there is Beijing Time minus 13 hours.
8. Currency: The local currency is the U.S. dollar (USD), with an exchange rate of approximately 1 USD to 7.27 RMB. Please note that credit cards such as VISA and MasterCard, as well as UnionPay cards, are widely accepted throughout the United States.
9. In July, Chicago’s temperatures typically range from 17°C to 29°C, with relatively high average daytime highs. It’s recommended to wear light, breathable clothing such as cotton or linen shirts, lightweight long skirts, and thin T-shirts. For business events or more formal meetings and receptions, be sure to bring formal attire.
10. Chicago’s electrical supply standard is 120V, 60Hz. All outlets in Chicago are U.S.-style three‑prong sockets, with two parallel flat slots and one round pin.
