Medical Fair Asia 2026 Concludes Successfully

One-stop in the Lion City, connecting ASEAN.

September 11, 2026

The 16th Medical Fair Asia has concluded.

1,000+ exhibitors

14,000+ professional visitors

17 national pavilions

This is a solid, hard‑hitting report card Singapore has delivered this year.

Singapore’s land area is even smaller than Beijing’s Chaoyang District, and its population is just under 6 million. Yet its healthcare system is widely regarded as the benchmark in Asia. The World Health Organization has rated it as the most efficient health‑care system in Asia and sixth worldwide. Singapore General Hospital (SGH) ranked ninth among the world’s best hospitals in 2025, making it the highest‑ranked general hospital in Asia. With a life expectancy of 84 years, it stands among the world’s very best.

The greatest value of this system lies not in “using it ourselves,” but in “showing it to others.” Singapore serves as a bellwether for the ASEAN healthcare market. For a Chinese medical device company, gaining access to Singapore’s public hospitals and obtaining HSA registration is tantamount to securing a vote of confidence across the entire Southeast Asian region.

Singapore’s Health Sciences Authority (HSA) is the world’s first regulatory agency to achieve the highest level of regulatory maturity (ML4) in both the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors, and its review outcomes have been mutually recognized by multiple countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

In 2026, the drug regulatory authorities of China and Singapore renewed their memorandum of cooperation, expanding their collaboration for the first time to cutting-edge areas such as gene, cell, and tissue therapies—shortening the overseas approval timeline for innovative Chinese medical devices by up to 50%.

Singapore market

Quality and growth coexist.

Singapore’s market size is relatively small, but both its growth and quality are quite strong.

According to the data:

• The medical device market is valued at approximately USD 1.94 billion, with an average annual growth rate of 8.35%.

• The MedTech manufacturing sector’s output value surged from SGD 5.5 billion in 2013 to approximately SGD 20 billion in 2024, more than tripling.

• Over 400 global and local MedTech companies, employing more than 17,000 people

• Nine of the world’s top ten pharmaceutical giants have a presence in Singapore.

• The share of the population aged 65 and over rose from 13.1% in 2015 to 20.7% in 2025, marking the country’s official entry into an “ultra-aged society” in 2026.

• In Singapore’s healthcare inflation, the insurance sector reported a cost increase of as much as 15.5%.

Population aging is accelerating, and healthcare demand is expanding.

Translated, this set of figures boils down to one sentence: the market isn’t huge, but it’s good enough; the entry barrier is high, but it’s worth it.

Medical Fair Asia

Why it’s worth choosing

Medical Fair Asia was founded in 1997 and is held biennially; this year marks its 16th edition. The organizer is none other than the team behind Medica: Dusseldorf Exhibition Group.

This means that Medical Fair Asia is, by its very nature, an “international‑style” platform.

The audience composition of this edition continues Medical Fair Asia’s longstanding reputation for high quality: 60% are trade channels such as distributors, agents, importers, and manufacturers, while 40% are end users including hospitals, medical institutions, elderly care facilities, and government agencies. Overseas visitors account for approximately 40%, fully demonstrating the exhibition’s international reach.

In 2026, several key upgrades were introduced:

• First, the three exhibitions are interconnected, creating a closed-loop ecosystem. This year, Medical Fair Asia is being held for the first time concurrently with Medical Manufacturing Asia (7th edition) and RehaCare Asia (inaugural edition), all under one roof. Spanning medical device manufacturing, hospital diagnostics and treatment, and rehabilitation and home care, the event covers the entire healthcare value chain. With more than 1,000 exhibitors from 45 countries and regions, 17 national pavilions, and over 10,000 products—this is not just a single exhibition, but an “Healthcare Ecosystem Week.”

• Second, AI is no longer a gimmick—it’s the main trend. This year’s newly established K‑AI Medical Diagnostic Hub has transformed AI‑assisted diagnosis from a concept into a tangible, end‑to‑end workflow: AI screening center → intelligent diagnostic suite → clinical decision support. Exhibitors can experience the entire AI‑driven diagnostic pipeline firsthand. Meanwhile, the FTR4H (Future for Health) Summit and exhibition area focus on digital health, robotics, wearable devices, and connected healthcare. AI + healthcare has moved from “talking about it” to “putting it to use.”

• Third, SingHealth has joined the fray. Singapore’s largest public healthcare group, SingHealth, is deeply engaged as a “healthcare innovation partner,” not only setting up an exhibit but also bringing a clinical perspective: Which innovative technologies can be successfully implemented and scaled in real-world healthcare settings? This question is being answered firsthand by the hospital side. For exhibitors, that’s worth more than any industry report.

• Fourth, the rehabilitation sector made its debut. With the addition of RehaCare Asia, the event addresses the pressing needs of Asia’s projected 130 million people aged 60 and above by 2050. Rehabilitation, assistive technologies, accessible mobility, and healthy aging are no longer niche segments—they are emerging as new growth drivers for medical device companies expanding into international markets.
