Weather and Recommendations: September falls in Buenos Aires’ spring, with average temperatures around 15–20°C. There’s a significant temperature difference between morning and evening, so it’s advisable to bring a shirt to layer with a jacket, and also pack a smart outfit for business occasions.

Voltage and Outlets: The local voltage is 220V/50Hz, and the outlets are Type C (two round pins) and Type I (Australian standard three flat pins). Please bring your own adapter.

Communication method: It is recommended to activate international roaming on your mobile phone in advance, or to purchase a local SIM card upon arrival.

Currency: Argentina’s currency is the Argentine peso (ARS), and U.S. dollars are widely accepted locally. It is advisable to carry a moderate amount of U.S. cash for currency exchange, while credit cards are accepted at major hotels and restaurants.

Customs and Safety:

  • The official language is Spanish; it’s advisable to prepare common phrases in advance or bring a translation tool.

  • In restaurants, taxis, and other service settings, tipping is customary; the standard tip at restaurants is around 10% of the bill.

  • In certain areas of Buenos Aires, public safety conditions warrant caution. It is advisable to avoid walking alone at night and to refrain from visiting neighborhoods with poor security.
