- Turkey straddles both Asia and Europe, serving as a vital link between the two continents. Situated at a strategic crossroads of Eurasia, it boasts convenient transportation, making it easy for exhibitors and visitors from around the world to attend trade shows. Surrounded by numerous countries and regions with significant healthcare market potential—such as the European Union, Russia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States—the exhibition can extend its reach into these markets, offering medical companies broader opportunities for market expansion.
- Turkey’s visa-free entry policy for the Middle East and Russia provides Expomed Eurasia exhibitors with a platform and opportunities to meet clients from these regions and explore new business prospects.
- Turkey’s medical equipment market is expanding rapidly, exhibiting strong growth and emerging as one of the world’s key emerging markets. The country’s imported medical equipment market is valued at USD 2.2 billion and has been growing at an annual rate of 12% to 14% in recent years. Meanwhile, medical tourism in Turkey is also booming: in 2024, it provided healthcare services to more than 1.5 million international patients, generating approximately USD 3 billion in revenue. By 2030, the sector is projected to reach a target of USD 20 billion in medical tourism income. This substantial market demand has attracted numerous medical companies and professionals, providing a solid foundation for medical trade shows.
- Turkey’s medical device market is 70% dependent on imports, with the main supplier countries being Germany (22%), China (18%), the United States (15%), and Japan (12%). The Turkish medical device sector is undergoing a transition from import reliance to indigenous innovation; in 2024, its market size surpassed US$5 billion, and it is projected to rank among the world’s top twenty markets by 2029.
