Exhibition Introduction

Since 1979, Medtrade has been the premier trade show and conference for the U.S. home medical equipment industry. With an expansive exhibition space, Medtrade brings together leading manufacturers of home medical devices, DMEPOS technologies, and personal health products. Thousands of suppliers attend to source a wide range of offerings—spanning from basic models to cutting-edge innovations—covering categories such as mobility aids, respiratory support, sleep health, rehabilitation care, and everyday living assistance.
Each year, hundreds of manufacturers and suppliers come together at this trade show. It is not only the largest annual sourcing platform in the home healthcare equipment sector but also helps attendees identify products that meet the growing demands of an ever‑changing market. In addition, participants can obtain practical advice from exhibitors and learn how to market their offerings more effectively.

Market Overview

The United States is the world’s largest medical device market, with consumer demand and market size ranking first globally. According to a Fitch Solutions report, its medical device imports account for 30% of the domestic market, making it the world’s leading importer of medical devices.
The United States is a capital‑market‑driven economy, and the capital‑intensive nature of the medical‑device industry means that U.S. consumers—namely healthcare institutions—solicit the highest‑value‑for‑money products worldwide. Over the past three decades of globalization, the U.S.’s mature and robust medical‑supply chain has established a globally integrated procurement framework. Meanwhile, the FDA, the U.S. regulatory authority for medical devices, has put in place a comprehensive certification and compliance regime to oversee medical‑device companies seeking to operate in the U.S. market.
According to statistics from the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products (CCCMIE), annual exports totaled US$48.75 billion, up 7.3% year on year, returning to a growth trajectory after three years and resuming a steady, normalized pace. In terms of export markets, the United States remains China’s largest destination for medical device exports, with shipments reaching US$11.758 billion in 2024, accounting for 24.1% of the total. Among these, categories such as dental equipment and materials, medical dressings, and disposable consumables all posted double-digit growth rates, while specific sub‑products like syringes, therapeutic devices, and high‑end dressings exhibited particularly strong expansion.
