HOSPITAL EXPO
Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) – BSD City
October 7–10, 2026
PT. Okta Sejahtera Insani
Exhibition Introduction
Hospital Expo is Indonesia’s most professional and influential medical‑industry trade show, co‑organized by OSI, a member of the Indonesian National Exhibition Association, together with the Indonesian Medical Industry Association and the Jakarta Medical Industry Association. With a comprehensive range of exhibit categories and a high caliber of exhibitors and professional visitors, it stands as Indonesia’s premier medical‑care event. Boasting a 37‑year history, the exhibition has grown into Southeast Asia’s largest trade fair, serving as a dedicated platform for industry suppliers and buyers to forge strategic partnerships with international medical‑device manufacturers.
Market Overview
Indonesia is the largest country in Southeast Asia, with a population of 281 million as of 2024. According to official Indonesian data, the country’s medical‑device import value reached US$3.28 billion in 2024. Although import dependence has declined from 86% in 2019 to 71% in 2023, high‑end equipment and core consumables still rely on imports for about 90% of their supply, while imported medical devices used at the primary care level account for over 60%. Indonesia is currently undertaking healthcare reforms, generating substantial demand for medical devices—presenting an unprecedented opportunity for Chinese medical‑device manufacturers. During the 2018 Indonesia Healthcare Exhibition, President Joko Widodo attended for the first time, underscoring the nation’s strong commitment to the healthcare sector and signaling increased investment going forward. In recent years, the Indonesian government has vigorously promoted “Made in Indonesia,” with a growing trend toward localization. By the end of 2023, the government had actively encouraged domestic production of medical devices to reduce reliance on imports. Today, Indonesia boasts more than 800 medical‑device manufacturers, having achieved local production of low‑value‑added items such as medical dressings and basic surgical instruments. However, high‑value consumables and advanced equipment continue to depend on imported components. To support this shift, the government has introduced policies—including tax incentives, subsidies, and investment incentives—aimed at strengthening local manufacturing capabilities. Such measures are expected to become increasingly common, creating significant business opportunities for upstream players in the medical‑device supply chain.
