Market Overview
² The United Kingdom is the world’s seventh-largest economy and one of the wealthiest, most economically advanced, and highest‑standard‑of‑living countries globally, wielding significant influence in Europe.
² According to data from Grand View Research, the UK medical rehabilitation services market generated $134.878 billion in revenue in 2024 and is projected to reach $186.534 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.6%. Physical therapy represents the largest revenue segment.
² In the United Kingdom, as the quality of life for older adults and persons with disabilities improves and their desire to participate in social life grows ever more pressing, assistive devices have become an indispensable means of helping them compensate for functional limitations, enhance their well-being, and elevate their quality of life, leading to steadily increasing demand.
² The aging of the UK population has led to a rise in age‑related health conditions and an increased demand for social care. By 2035, the NHS plans to shift 70% of outpatient care to the community, delivering one‑stop rehabilitation, diagnostics, and health management through “Neighbourhood Health Services,” while advancing tele‑rehabilitation and preventive medicine.
² The Department of Health is currently allocating substantial resources to address the following conditions and cancers: Alzheimer’s disease, mental health disorders, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and obesity.
² In 2024, Sino‑British trade in medical devices totaled US$2.307 billion, with Chinese exports primarily consisting of massage devices and medical gloves, accounting for 60% of the total.
